Which snakes stand up?

Snakes do not literally "stand up," but certain species can raise a significant portion of their front body. Cobras, especially King Cobras, are known for this defensive and striking posture, often elevating up to a third of their length while spreading their hood. Black Mambas also commonly lift their heads and necks when threatened or preparing to strike.
