What does it mean when apartments say washer and dryer connections?

"Washer and dryer connections" means the apartment provides the necessary plumbing (hot and cold water lines, drain) and electrical outlets (120V for gas dryers, 240V for electric dryers) for you to bring and install your own washer and dryer. The appliances themselves are not included.
